openGear-compatible Rackframe

openGear is an open-architecture, modular frame system designed by Ross Video and supported by a diverse range of terminal equipment manufacturers, which now includes AJA.

The AJA OG-3-FR is a 2RU high openGear frame which is compatible with any AJA openGear card. The frame has a 20-slot capacity with excellent cooling capabilities for high-density applications and compatibility with advanced openGear connectivity options for supported cards.

Easy Access

A fold-down front panel provides you quick access to any of the installed cards for easy maintenance or replacement without having to remove the rack frame or climb behind the rack.

Cooling

While many of AJA’s openGear cards are energy-efficient, the high-density nature of rackmount cards can generate heat in a small space. Integrated fans in the OG-3-FR keep internal components operating at acceptable temperatures, leading to improved reliability and longer card life.

OG-Hi5-4K-Plus

3G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 Conversion

OG-Hi5-4K-Plus is an openGear card that offers 3G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 conversion for 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD/SD sources, supporting up to 60p from professional 4K/UltraHD devices when monitoring to HDMI 2.0 displays. OG-Hi5-4K-Plus generates HDR metadata in accordance with HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3 and offers a simple monitoring connection from 4K devices with Quad 3G-SDI or Dual 3G-SDI outputs to compatible HDMI 2.0 displays, with two sample interleave (2SI) or square division (Quadrant) source mapping.

Connectivity

The latest generation of affordable 4K monitors utilize an HDMI 2.0 connection, which allows a full 4K signal to be passed over a single cable. Typical professional 4K workflows use four SDI cables to carry the full resolution image, making it difficult to incorporate these newer monitors. OG-Hi5-4K-Plus is an easy-to-use converter that bridges the gap between these two worlds for seamless integration.


HDR

HDR or High Dynamic Range,  provides the ability to display a wider and richer range of colors, much brighter whites, and much deeper, darker blacks than standard signals allow. This gives your imagery a more ‘dynamic’ look and allows for natural true to life colors to be communicated to your audience.

OG-Hi5-4K Plus provides this support for your 4K/UltraHD/HD HDR pipelines to
HDMI compatible displays by generating HDR metadata in accordance with HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3.  OG-Hi5-4K-Plus also provides support for Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG)  HDR displays over HDMI.

4K and UltraHD

Typical 4K signals use a resolution of 4096×2160 pixels while UltraHD signals measure 3840×2160. This difference can prevent some monitors from being used either in full 4K workflows or in UltraHD workflows. OG-Hi5-4K-Plus can compensate for these resolution differences, allowing UltraHD monitors to be used in 4K productions and vice versa.

OG-Hi5-4K-Plus also supports High Frame Rate (HFR) inputs. 4K/UltraHD signals at 50 or 60p can be fed into OG-Hi5-4K-Plus and output at up to 60p for viewing with appropriate HDMI 2.0 capable displays.

Audio

Up to 8-channels of embedded audio in the incoming HDMI signal are carried through seamlessly into the SDI output, ensuring your audio is always in sync and carried flawlessly along with the SDI signal for use anywhere in your workflow.

OG-4K2HD is an openGear card that down-converts professional 3G-SDI 4K/UltraHD signals to HD resolution using AJA’s high-quality scaling for cost-effective monitoring and conversion. OG-4K2HD’s HD-SDI and HDMI outputs are live simultaneously, producing fantastic-looking HD images for on set monitoring or direct-to-air broadcast.

OG-4K2HD supports high frame rate (HFR) 4K/UltraHD inputs at 50 and 60fps and converts to HD outputs at 50 and 60fps for accurate viewing. Real time downconversion

OG-4K2HD uses real time processing and AJA’s high-quality scaling algorithms to downconvert professional 4K or UltraHD signals using 4× SDI connections to HD resolution, producing fantastic-looking HD images for on set monitoring or direct-to-air broadcast.

Simultaneous HD-SDI and HDMI outputs

OG-4K2HD’s HD-SDI and HDMI outputs are live all the time, allowing use of both professional SDI monitors as well as low-cost HDMI monitors simultaneously. No matter what monitors you have on hand, OG-4K2HD can use them for on the spot 4K viewing.

High frame rate support

Many 4K productions are opting for higher frame rates of 50 and 60fps. OG-4K2HD supports high frame rate (HFR) 4K inputs and converts the HD output to a matching frame rate for accurate viewing so what you shoot is what you see.


Center-cut extraction

Connectivity

The OG-3G-AM provides a 3G-SDI input and 3G-SDI output with 4 x AES BNC connectors in each direction. OG-3G-AM automatically detects and configures to the input video standard. AES inputs are sample rate converted (SRC) to 48KHz synchronous to the video input. Audio disembedding is always functional, providing 4 AES outputs. Audio embedding is user selectable, on a channel-pair basis, to either embed input AES audio or pass 3G-SDI input audio. Simple user controls allow channel enabling and mapping.


OG-3G-AMA

openGear 3G-SDI Analog Audio Embedder/Disembedder with DashBoard support

An openGear 8-Channel analog audio embedder/disembedder, OG-3G-AMA supports 3G-SDI input and output up to 1080p 60, and automatically detects and configures to the input video standard. It uses 3-pin terminal block connectors that can be set to perform audio input or output functionality. Analog audio levels and audio embedding/disembedding are selectable, with embedding/disembedding on a channel pair basis to pass 3G-SDI input audio or embed input analog audio from 3-pin terminal block connectors.

Designed for use in high-density openGear’s 2RU frames including AJA’s OG-3-FR 2RU frame, new DashBoard Software support on Windows®, macOS® and Linux® offers remote control and monitoring of the openGear architecture and provides convenient and industry-standard configuration, monitoring and control options over a PC or local network.

The OG-2×4-SDI-DA is an openGear-compatible, state of the art 3G-SDI distribution amplifier. The incoming 3G-SDI signals on the 2 input channels are reclocked and distributed to 4 x 3G-SDI outputs each, or alternatively can function as a 1 x 8-Channel DA, allowing the same signal to be sent to eight destinations simultaneously. This dual input capability allows double the number of DAs in limited frame space. A 10 BNC rear Open Gear connector module is included.
